Griselda Gambaro’s classic “Theater of Torture” show, about the terrible pervasiveness of kidnapping and torture perpetuated by the Argentinean government, leads the audience through a series of rooms rather than a conventional stage. The motivation behind the promotional photography was largely to capture the emptiness of the negative space in the all black rooms, punctuated by the implication of something sinister underneath a seemingly shiny surface; much like the show itself behind its seemingly innocuous title. |
